Title: Home & Away in the British Empire. Topic: This course offers an introduction to major issues in the contemporary historiography of Britain and its empire in the modern period. In addition to thinking through big questions - slavery, environment, sex and gender, racialized mobility and resistance - students are encouraged to develop an appreciation for both protable methods and the stakes of writing imperial hitories that do not reproduce the vantage point of the clonizer.
