GER 465 - Spring 2016 Topic: Varietaeten des Deutschen In this course, we will explore modern varieties of German, including German dialects, varieties of German that have developed in migration situations, and national varieties of the standard language. We will analyze the linguistic structure of the varieties and will discuss theoretical aspects of language contact, variation, and change. The course will be taught in German; interested students who have not taken GER 212 or do not have equivalent language proficiency should obtain instructor consent to enroll.
