Dementia Care of Older Adults
Section Info:
Course Description: This course will introduce and develop practice skills on all levels of dementia care interventions, assessments of older adults; course content will cover person-centered care and behavioral intervention for individuals diagnosed with dementia of all types, multi-cultural backgrounds, families, and caregivers. Special attention will be given to developing practice skills in working with this vulnerable population through facility based learning site opportunities and assignments. Upon completion of this course, students will receive a certificate stating they have completed dementia caring training core content and will be eligible to work in dementia care (pending State approval).
Restriction(s):
Not intended for students with Freshman or Sophomore class standing. Restricted to Undergrad - Urbana-Champaign.
