Graduate Literature Workshop

Description: This is a graduate-level workshop designed to teach students how to effectively use the existing literature to advance their research agendas. Independent readings and literature searches will be combined with group-based workshop activities to help students develop an annotated bibliography that can serve as the basis for a proposal or a synthetic literature review paper. Topics to be covered include: using reference manager software, conducting a literature search, compiling a research library, purpose-driven reading of scientific papers, synthesizing your reading, identifying research gaps, and building a solid foundation for research questions. Enrollment in this class is by instructor invitation only.
