Experimental Cell Biology
Section Info:
Experimental Cell Biology Prerequisites: MCB 252 and MCB 253. This laboratory course is built upon the experimental foundation introduced in MCB 253. Biochemical, immunological and molecular biological techniques will be used to probe the molecules and processes of eukaryotic cells. Special emphasis will be given to the cell cycle, intracellular trafficking, and cellular differentiation. The course will also include proper data handling and reporting techniques. This course counts as an advanced MCB laboratory course. This section may not be repeated. Consult an MCB advisor for grade replacement situations.

Human Medical Genomics This course covers the fundamental topics of human genomics of health and disease. The course includes the background information related to animal and in vitro models of human disease, population genetics, data analysis, genome analysis, and medical genetics. Students who take this course will develop skills in population genetic and genomic research design, data analysis, as well as critical interpretation of primary literature. Prerequisite: MCB 252 or consent of instructor. This section of MCB 493 counts as advanced MCB course credit.
