Examines the pressing issues facing the new European Union as the realities of multicultural continent shape the daily lives of all. Begins with EU policy and theoretical models of immigration, but most readings emphasize perspectives of Africans' own experiences as immigrants and refugees in Europe.
Same as AFST 478 and EURO 478. 3 undergraduate hours. 4 graduate hours. Prerequisite: One prior 300-level anthropology or related social science course, or consent of instructor.
