FR 578 Inqui�tude ou angoisse : la France et la crise d'identit� At least since the age of Louis XIV France has enjoyed a large consensus on what it means to be French. In the 21st century that is perhaps no longer so certain. In this seminar, we will examine novels, essays and films questioning the theme of identity in France. Authors include: Alain Finkielkraut, Alain Badiou, Patrick Modiano, Emmanuelle Bayamack-Tam, Michel Houellebecq, Maylis de Kerangal, Pascal Quignard, and others.
