This Grand Challenge Learning experience course is part of a 3-year pilot and is certified for General Education credit for Humanities (Philosophical Perspectives). This course prepares students to think about, act upon and share their growing knowledge of sustainable design practices. Initially we work to understand environmental philosophy and "systems thinking"; subsequently we turn to a range of design practices that proceed from this way of thinking. The emphasis is on active, engaged participation in a variety of learning activities, design challenges, and field experiences.
Same as GCL 127. Prerequisite: Restricted to first-time new freshmen.
