Section Title:
Is Humanity Doomed or Thriving
Section Info:
Although positive psychology will be the main theme, we will begin this course with a reading and discussion of the "5 Psychological experiments that prove humanity is doomed." We will critically evaluate these five studies and use them to begin a discussion of research ethics. After our readings on positive psychology, we will search for psychological experiments that reveal human fulfillment and the ability to thrive. The focus of the course will be on critical assessment of research (research literacy). The structure of the course will be heavily discussion, with group work and writing emphasized. Opens to James Scholars outside of Division of General Studies on November 6th.
