Topic: "Immigration, Race, and Identity: The Changing Face of America." Meets with SOC 596. Since the 1960's, the United States has experienced dramatic shifts in the composition of the immigrant population, as more migrants now arrive from Latin America, Asia, and the Caribbean. This course will focus on how race and nationality shape the integration of immigrants in the US and how immigration in turn challenges and redefines, what it means to be an "American" in the 21st century.
