Topic: Introduction to Design Through Craft Practice. Introduction to the elements, principles, and processes of design. Students will investigate basic design concepts in five three-week workshops in craft/material studies. Design strategies will be introduced via a survey of basic techniques in metalworking, glassmaking, bookmaking, ceramics, and fiber. This course is designed for the non-art major who seeks an introductory hands on art making experience.
