Community Based Arts Proj Mgmt This course introduces the student to strategies and skill sets necessary to lead and manage a successful community?based project in the arts, design or planning. The course will include guest speakers and participation from community partners. Students will review case studies, create budgets, develop work plans and role play multiple project scenarios. Topics will include leading by example, delegating responsibilities, contextual decision making, troubleshooting, contingency planning, developing a volunteer work force, motivation and team building, etc. A portion of each weekly session will be devoted to reviewing the progress in the assigned FAA 391 section and group discussion of common issues. Students will present their work to the public in a required symposium. This course may be taken for 4 hours by proposal and approval by the instructor following the first day of class.
