They will then work in groups to develop and coordinate programs with actual pet owners in the community. Work outside of class, including 1-2 weekend outings, is required for this class. Credit: 1 hours Section Title: Ration Balancing and Build Section Info: Center for Innovation in Teaching & Learning (CITL) restrictions and assessments apply, see http://www.citl.illinois.edu. This course includes online synchronous class sessions where students will meet online using the "Go to Webinar" conferencing technology. Students will need a working external microphone/speakers or headset with microphone and reliable high-speed internet. Wireless Internet is not recommended. Course materials will be accessible in class via the class website. This gives students access to the materials as soon as they register and pay the course fees. Course will feature Spartan III (Michigan State University) rumen modeling software to train students to build, evaluate, and balance rations. Topics include: dry matter intake guidelines, energy applications, building protein levels, micro nutrients and additives. Teams of students will work on case studies.
