Mountain Ecosystem Management
Section Info:
Ten-day field trip to Flathead Lake Biological Station (FLBS) in Montana via Amtrak (May 13-22, 2013). Class time (2nd eight weeks) will focus on trip preparation, readings, and lectures on ecosystem dynamics along with management issues in Western Montana. The field trip will focus on water quality, fisheries and shoreline dynamics, and environmental collaboration and conflict in a mountain lake and river ecosystem - the Flathead Valley and Crown of the Continent. Lodging and food provided at FLBS. Guest lectures, hands on field work, and a visit to Glacier Park will be part of the Montana experience. Fee $1000 (partially refundable if expenses are lower). This course will be substitutable for NRES 285.

Restricted to Natural Resrcs & Environ Sci major(s). Not intended for students with Freshman or Sophomore class standing. Not intended for Graduate - Urbana-Champaign.
