Credit: 3 hours.
An exploration of English-language poetry written since World War II. Students study some or all of the following major poetic movements of the period: the Beats, the New York School, the Black Mountain poets, the Confessional school, the Deep Image poets, the British "movement" and post-"Movement" poets, the Black Arts movement, Feminist poets, Post-colonial poetry, Language poets, and the current multifarious poetry scene.
Prerequisite: Completion of the Composition I requirement.
