Advanced reporting projects or techniques, with separate sections for a varying array of topics such as investigative reporting, immersion journalism, literary journalism, business and financial journalism, online publishing, radio news features, sports writing, broadcast documentary production, digital journalism, and photo journalism.

May be repeated in the same or subsequent semesters if topics vary. Prerequisite: JOUR 400.

Topic: International Reporting - Foreign Correspondents in Training. Students will spend spring semester researching the region of Calabria in southern Italy in preparation for an international reporting trip to Calabria, with a stopover in Rome. Under the guidance of Professor Nancy Benson, students in the class will produce a Web travelogue about Calabria and stories for radio and television programs. Journalism 400 required, plus one other required journalism course. Multi-media experience valued.
