Glycobiology This course examines biosynthesis, properties, and biological roles of carbohydrate-containing molecules or glycans in animals, microbes, and plants. Topics include glycan analysis and enzymology, carbohydrate antigens, glycans in development, glycans in human and microbial disease, glycan synthesis as a drug target, glycans in biotechnology, and chemical glycobiology. Prerequisite: MCB 354 or consent of instructor.
