Topic: Aerospace Systems Engineering Program. As part of the Aerospace Systems Engineering (ASE) Program, this special project technical elective provides a hands on component. Under the supervision of the ASE Program Coordinator and interaction with another AE department faculty member, the ASE student will interact as a system engineer with an undergraduate Design Build Fly or special project design class such as Cube Sat in a team environment. The AE498 SE1 student will perform systems engineering & systems engineering management functions. The student will produce traditional SE products the ASE Program Coordinator and another AE department faculty member. This may include, but not be limited to, the following products and activities: Overall systems engineering program products such as; System Engineering Master Plan (SEMP), Product Breakdown Structure/ Work Breakdown Structure, Technical Performance Measures management, Systems Engineering Master Schedule, Configuration Management; Requirements analysis, traceability, and requirements management for the team; Risk identification, management, mitigation; Performing a program milestone review, change board, regular management reviews. Prerequisite - concurrent registration in AE 598AS1.
