PERSONAL FINANCIAL PLANNING - Reserved for LAS Juniors & Seniors only. A survey of the financial planning process and industry, this course covers investment, tax, insurance, and retirement planning. Applicable to those interested in creating a sound personal financial plan early in one's working career and those interested in becoming a financial planner. The course meets the first 8 weeks of the semester.

This course explores contemporary global issues, e.g., immigration, poverty, and sustainability, through open classroom discussion and debate. Students will learn debate skills and employ them throughout the course. The final project will be participation in an in-class team debate on a global issue.
