Topic: �Swiss Literature� This course explores German-language Swiss literature from the 19th and the 20th centuries. Discussions will focus on questions of identity and alienation in texts by canonical authors such as Gottfried Keller, Robert Walser, and Friedrich D�rrenmatt and by lesser-known writers Regula Engel and Erica Pedretti. One thematic unit of this course will be devoted to the tradition of pedagogical and children�s literature: J.H. Pestalozzi�s Fabeln, J.D. Wyss� Der schweizerische Robinson, Johanna Spyri�s Heidi and Peter Bichsel�s Kindergeschichten.
