Review of Maxwell's equations followed by a relativistic formulation of the electromagnetic field and the motion of charged particles; plane and guided waves; retarded potentials; radiation from simple antennas; radiation from accelerated charged particles; synchrotron radiation, bremsstrahlung, scattering, and further topics.

Prerequisite: PHYS 436.
