Credit: 3 OR 4 hours.
Provides LL.M. students with a general introduction to the U.S. legal systems and role of law in society. Introduces students to the nature of legal reasoning and lawmaking with a specific focus on the role of judiciary in the United States. Exposes students to basic legal concepts, sources of law, and fields of legal practice. Further explores the role that lawyers play in the U.S. legal system as advocates, counselors, and judges. Serves as a general foundation for students starting the LL.M. program.
