The 21st Century is turning out to be a crossroads for the sustainability of humankind existence and other species on Earth as we face the mounting challenges of diminishing resources (including peak oil), population growth, environmental degradation and climate change. While many technological solutions are being proposed to deal with the challenges of sustainability, less attention has been paid to the root cause of all these problems, namely, human behavior and the psychology underlying human behavior.
