Section Info:
PS 280, Introduction to International Relations, will be offered in an online format for the Summer II 2008 term (there will be no on-campus section). Students can take the course from any location with an Internet connection. Students will read a conventional textbook and materials (videos, readings, detailed overhead slides) posted on UI Compass website. Requirements include online quizzes, discussion postings, two short papers, and an essay final exam. All work is submitted online. The course is coordinated by an instructor, who will coordinate discussions, grade and provide feedback on assignments, and be available for office hours online. This course is not a self-paced independent study, as students must complete prescribed assignments each week, although there is great flexibility when during the week the assignments can be done. This course offered in 2 sections (CRN 31205 and CRN 30321) to facilitate course management.
