Ecosystem processes and conservation of coral reefs will also be discussed. One 1 hour lecture per week plus the week-long field trip to Belize at the end of the semester. The field trip will be Sunday May 17-Sunday May 24, 2009. Cost of the field trip is estimated to be $1850 and will be borne by the student. Prerequisite: IB 150 and consent of instructor. The course focuses on development of microsatellite loci for wildlife and fisheries studies. Graduate students developing such a project and have funding to purchase/expend on consumables. Course format will include lectures, guest speakers, student presentations, discussions and work sessions. The course will meet at Forbes 2064 (I-building).
