Introductory skills and knowledge for development of life time activities in basic backpacking, basic river canoeing, and mountaineering techniques (balance, climbing, and rappelling). Includes participation in one field trip during the term. Prior to enrolling in this course, students must have basic swimming skills. The class will include two required half-day field trips on Friday afternoons (dates to be announced). There will be a course material fee of $100.00 for equipment, facilities, supplies and class activities.
