Spring 2008 All Classes

All Classes

Credit: 4 hours.

Basic overview of the physics, governing equations and numerical methods for dispersed multiphase flow 9also sometimes called particle suspensions), with particular emphasis on themomentum transfer to and from the particles. Characterization of particle size, shape, trajectories and coupling regimes; mixed-fluid, separated-fluid, and resolved-surface numerical approaches.
