Topic: Museums in Action: Engaging the Community. Engaged Museums takes place in the UIUC Krannert Art Museum (KAM), and looks at how the KAM engages the interests of culturally diverse local communities. Students will learn about the museum?s curatorial practices and multicultural exhibitions; and they will work on teams to create new experiences for KAM Visitors. Students may also creatively explore how new technologies can be incorporated into museum educational practices. This course is open to all students. Prerequisites include love of art, love of people, and love to talk. Engaged Museums meets in the Giertz Education Center in the basement of KAM.
