Advanced study of the nature of language impairments and language/learning disabilities found in the school-age population, and ramifications for academic success and social development; critical review of theoretical models and empirical evidence of language learning in older children; evaluation of research in the diagnosis and treatment of language impairments in older children.

Prerequisite: SHS 320 or equivalent, or consent of instructor
