This course will examine new literature on topics covered in the basic course on law and economics (such as intellectual property law, moral theory in the law, property and liability rules, and criminal law) and scholarly literature on new issues in the field (such as game theory in the law, bankruptcy, law in assisting the transition and developing economies, econometric studies of legal topics, and behavioral law and economics). Students must lead a discussion, participate in the other seminar discussions, present their paper topics to the group, and submit a substantial research paper of no less than 20 pages. Prerequisite: Completion of LAW 689, Law and Economics.
