Topic: Neuroimmunology. 2 credit hours. The instructor is Ed Roy and he can be reached at eroy@life.uiuc.edu. The seminar will cover interactions between the immune system and the nervous system. We will read and discuss reviews and primary literature on topics such as antigen presentation in the brain, the role of microglia in inflammation and activation of acquired immune responses, autoimmune disorders, and the response of the immune system to brain tumors.
