Human Rights

Credit: 2 TO 4 hours.

(SOC 357) Examines the idea of human rights: human rights in liberal democracies, especially in the United States; in pre-industrial societies; in totalitarian states. Studies human rights and cultural evolution; justification of human rights.

3 undergraduate hours. 2 or 4 graduate hours. Prerequisite: SOC 100 or consent of instructor.
