(GEOL 358) Introducing the basic theory of seismic wave generation and propagation and its application to Earth structure and earthquakes, including body waves, surface waves, inference of Earth structure, seismic prospecting, earthquake mechanisms, and strong ground motions.
3 or 4 undergraduate hours. Students participating in optional class projects receive an additional hour of credit. Prerequisite: MATH 385 or consent of instructor.
