Credit: 2 hours.

Philosophical examination of some fundamental concepts and theories of the physical world, such as time, matter, space and geometry; interpretation of quantum theory. This course is identical to PHYS 419, with the exception that no final term paper is required and no Advanced Composition credit is given.

Same as PHIL 420. Approved for both letter and S/U grading. Credit is not given for both PHYS 420 and PHYS 419. Prerequisite: Junior standing; one physical science course; one of PHYS 214, PHIL 101, PHIL 270, or PHIL 317; or consent of instructor.
