(ECE 435) Introductory quantum mechanics of semiconductors; energy bands; dynamics of Block electrons in static and high-frequency electric and magnetic fields; equilibrium statistics; transport theory, diffusion, drift and thermoelectric effects; and characteristics of p-n junctions, heterojunctions, and transistor devices.
Same as PHYS 565. Prerequisite: Senior-level course in quantum mechanics or atomic physics
