(ECE 432) Properties of III-V and II-VI compound semiconductors and the devices which are unique to these materials; emphasis on materials such as GaAs, Ga(AsP), GaP, CdSe, Cd(SeS), etc., and on luminescence, semiconductor lamps, and semiconductor lasers.

Prerequisite: Graduate standing in electrical engineering with some background in modern physics; elementary quantum mechanics; elementary semiconductor theory or equivalent
