Credit: 3 hours.
(ANSCI 205) Explores the relationships between humans and companion animals and the roles and functions that animals play in today's society. Examines the evolution of the human/companion animal bond, benefits and disadvantages of this bond, and working/nonworking roles of companion animals. Controversial issues which are of current concern to society will be examined in detail. Writing and in-class discussions are emphasized.
Prerequisite: Junior standing.
