Engineering System Development
Section Info:
Course prerequisites: MATH 231 and PHYS 211, ECE 110 or ECE 205, CS 101 or CS 124, and one of: SE 101, ME 170, AE 140. Course description: Project-based course focused on the development of physical engineering systems using systematic engineering processes. Students lead open-ended, hardware-based projects in a studio environment, progressing through needs analysis, requirements engineering, system design and analysis, formal design reviews, lifecycle assessment, functional prototyping, and hardware testing and evaluation. Emphasis is placed on system interactions, disciplined engineering processes, and rigorous decision-making supported by engineering analysis.
