Carbon capture and storage is an important technology for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and mitigating global warming. This course will cover fundamentals for CO2 separation from syngas and post-combustion flue gas, the most advanced CO2 capture technologies including absorption, adsorption and membranes, CO2 compression and transportation, and CO2 sequestration in deep underground geological formations.
Prerequisite: ME 200; MATH 285 OR MATH 441; Recommended: ME 404.
