A creative and expressive exploration of multiple art media, including but not limited to drawing, painting and design elements. This course is an introduction to the art making process with weekly interactive lectures and hands on studio sections.

Additional fees may apply. See Class Schedule. Not open to students in art and design and architecture.

Students must register for the lecture and one lab section.

Asynchronous Online. This summer course offers an Introduction to Art for non-Art and Design majors and fulfills a General Education requirement for Humanities: Literature & the Arts. This course is designed thematically to explore art and artists as well as art concepts and practices through lectures, readings, and creative art making assignments. Students will learn about historical and contemporary art, while also engaging in their own exploration of art making across multiple media, developing creative, analytical, and expressive skills.
