SHOW FINAL EXAM SCHEDULE

Instruction in developing research-based arguments of moderate complexity within a special topics format. Introduction to the use of multimodal or other non-print resources as evidence in written arguments.

Prerequisite: Completion of campus Composition I general education requirement.

We will examine how comics combine text and graphics to shape information by looking at memoir, nonfiction, and other ways artists and creators use comics storytelling techniques to comment on the world around us. You will create your own nonfiction comics using the tools we study in the classroom. Throughout the class, assignments will be created by hand and work in doodles, drawings, creative positioning of text, etc. No artistic skills or deep experience with graphic novels required.
