A foundation course in the humanities for adult learners in the Odyssey program. Team-taught by faculty with humanities expertise, it focuses on a variety of fictional and nonfictional material, including but not limited to the novel, poetry, autobiography, memory-work and oral history, that make up the building blocks of humanistic inquiry. The course engages students in the disciplinary and multi-disciplinary methods through which humanists engage these forms and formats, and provides academic skill building, including critical thinking and writing.

Approved for Letter and S/U grading. Prerequisite: Restricted to adult students in the Odyssey program.
