Credit: 3 OR 4 hours.

Explores migrant urbanisms worldwide, foregrounding migrants as city-makers. Through theoretical and case-study engagements at the intersection of migration and urbanization, the course examines how migrants’ everyday struggles over urban space forge new territories key to global migration projects and governance. Students will gain a critical lens to reimagine migration beyond the nation-state, as a distinctive urban phenomenon, and to understand the role of urban processes in shaping contemporary migrant trajectories.
