Topic: Inclusive Art Education: Teaching Students with Disabilities; Description: This course explores inclusive, strengths-based approaches to teaching school-aged students with disabilities in art classrooms. Preservice art educators will examine disability through historical, cultural, and educational lenses, with an emphasis on anti-ableist pedagogy, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), and the integration of disability arts and culture. Through hands-on activities, development of focused lesson plans, and reflective practice, students will develop strategies to create accessible, affirming, and creative art spaces for all learners.
