Credit: 4 hours.

Presentation of major critical theories for the analysis of literary and cultural texts since the mid-20th century. Hispanic, Luso-Brazilian, and U.S. Latina/o critical theory will be studied. Students will demonstrate their understanding of these theories by critically engaging texts written in Spanish, Portuguese, or the foreign language of their specialization.

Same as PORT 572. Prerequisite: Graduate standing in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese or consent of instructor.
