Surveys theoretical debates about the nature, source, and authority of law. Examines various philosophical accounts of law, different kinds of law, the relationship between law and justice, the interpretation of law, and the role of law in dynamics of justice and oppression.

Prerequisite: PS 170, PS 270, or instructor approval.
