This journal club will cover both foundational and current literature related to microbial genetics and ecology, host-microbiota interactions, and microbiome analysis. Meetings will alternate between manuscripts focusing on microbial genetics and microbiome topics. Through reading assigned manuscripts and subsequent group discussions, students will become familiar with current molecular, computational, and statistical tools and methodologies used to interrogate microbial and microbiome function and composition.
May be repeated in separate terms up to 8 graduate hours, if topics vary.
