Fall 2026 Part of Term 1
Aug 24-Dec 9
Credit: 4 hours.
The classical and quantum theories of the interaction of radiation with matter are the core components of nuclear science and engineering. In this course, we provide a quantitative introduction to introductory quantum mechanics, fundamentals of atomic and nuclear physics, and interaction of radiation (charged particles, photons, and neutrons) with matter.
4 undergraduate hours. 4 graduate hours. Prerequisite: NPRE 200, MATH 285, PHYS 212.
