- Cog Psych Research Methods
- Section Info:
- Title: Cognitive Psychology Research Methods: Cognitive psychology relies on a range of empirical approaches that support inference about mental processes. In this course, students will explore behavioral research methods, including reaction times and eye-tracking measures; neuroimaging techniques (e.g., EEG, fMRI) that link brain activity to cognition; and computational modeling as a tool for simulating cognitive mechanisms. Emphasis will be placed on experimental design and statistical analyses (e.g., linear mixed-effects models) essential for drawing valid conclusions. Students will also engage with key topics in research ethics, open science practices, and scientific writing. By the end of the course, students will develop both practical and theoretical skills for designing, analyzing, and interpreting research in cognitive psychology. This course will meet with PSYC 593 CRM and EPSY 590 CRM.
