Students will learn to properly cite statutes, case law, and secondary sources including legal commentaries and academic works. Students will complete small tasks including case briefs, legal briefs, and exercises in finding sources and correcting citations. This course will culminate in a final research project. Restriction(s): Not intended for students in the Law department.

Examples of such issues include limits on presidential power, regulations of artificial intelligence, privacy considerations, and regulations of speech and the internet. This course will explore why these issues are important through the lens of legal traditions, what they may mean for development of the law, and trace how they will advance through the legal system. Restriction(s): Not intended for students in the Law department.
